Indeed, you are limited if you use a living room because: Sound will be heard in the other rooms in the house (stairwell, hall, bedrooms) and it will be impossible to turn the volume up in the evenings without waking everybody up... Additionally, acoustics are difficult to control when surrounded by furniture, and when colours in the room are too light, it’s difficult to obtain a quality picture. You never see white walls, ceilings or floors in a cinema, and that’s just why! In a dedicated room, we can reproduce the exact same result as in a cinema by using the same building materials and equipment...

What budget is required?

- Even though installing a private cinema room in your home may sound like a dream, and though dreams don’t have price tags, a private cinema room is now perfectly affordable... You can benefit from it 365 days per year, day and night, with your family or with friends! The budget varies on average between 15,000 € and 30,000 € (for an installation in a living room) and three times that amount for a dedicated room. Indeed for the latter, you need to add all of the costs involved in creating the room (floor, cinema ceiling, acoustic walls, electric work, automated lighting, furniture, podiums and forestage, etc.)

Do I need to sound proof my room for a dedicated room?

- No, there’s absolutely no need to do so. Not only the sound proofing material will be inefficient for sound leaks (acoustic protection) but it will totally reduce the sound quality in multi-channel due to the effects of standing waves, echo and reverberation, etc. The acoustic partitions we install, which are protected by a European patent, are fixed directly onto the rough walls in your room (on breeze blocks, bricks, concrete or wood...) and will provide the 4 necessary properties for a cinema installation:

- Thermal insulation

- Sound proofing (avoiding sound leaks out of the room)

- Acoustic treatment (to control the sound within the room).

- Finish (fabrics, wood panels...) and decoration

What room is suitable for my cinema?

- There is always a room which is suitable for a private cinema. It can either be a living room (lounge, dining room, mezzanine, veranda, pool house...) or in a dedicated room (loft, garage, basement, spare room...). For a dedicated room, you will need an area of 20 m² to guarantee real cinema sensations.

Can I watch TV on my cinema screen?

- The picture you project on a cinema screen must be flawless, perfectly clear and therefore of very good quality. You can project films or programmes from a DVD, Blu-Ray as well as via digital TV (satellite or TNT, and especially in HD), from your computer (PC or Mac) and games consoles. On the other hand, don’t even attempt to watch a video cassette or Divx as the picture quality will be completely lacking!

How long will it take to build my private cinema?

- Depending on how complex the project is and how big the room is, on average it takes 1 to 4 weeks, once the project has been confirmed. The design and study stages beforehand are what take up the most time...

Not only can we totally hide the speakers (behind the screen, in a wall or ceiling...) but we can also set up all of the audio video components in a different room. Finally, the projector, the plasma or the electric screen can totally disappear into a wall, the ceiling or a cabinet and reappear at the simple press of a button on the remote control...

- This is particularly important for those people living in an apartment. Our sound proofing solutions and acoustic treatment enable you to use your cinema installation at any time of the day or night. Solutions exist. We know how to apply them!

Is it complicated to use?

- Not at all. There is only one touch-screen remote control, fun to use and user-friendly, allowing each member of the family to control the entire cinema installation. With a simple click, the cinema screen slides down, the projector comes on, the lights dim slowly and the film starts... it can hardly be made any easier!

Who is involved in the installation?

- From the study stage of your project until the custom installation and your first film projection, only VOTRE CINEMA will be present in your home and will be your sole contact. We control the project from beginning to end, employing our own staff. This guarantees quality and professionalism.

Can I benefit from the installation in other rooms in my home?

- Of course you can. Today’s technology means that you can make the most of the sound and picture from your cinema system throughout your home and totally independently of each other (DVD player, satellite, radio, etc.). For example, when your children are watching a good film in the dedicated cinema room, you can watch the news on TV in peace, and your wife can listen to a CD in the bathroom. This is the “multi-room” concept.
